La historia, admirablemente contada a través de unos supuestos cuadernos íntimos de la protagonista, constituye una amarga meditación sobre el amor llevado a sus últimas consecuencias en medio de un clima muy patético, hasta la destrucción física y moral, que Antonio Gala sabe describir con la irresistible fuerza de su estilo.
